UNOFFICIAL: Ronaldo Snubbed In A Shocking Top 30 Ballon d’Or List
Once again Cristiano Ronaldo has been overlooked as the world’s best player of 2020 in an unofficial poll consisting of 30 players. Cristiano Ronaldo was clearly snubbed in the top 3 of the unofficial Ballon d’Or list, ranking the Juventus superstar as only the world’s fifth-best player of 2020 in the poll.
The 36-year-old managed 41 goals and eight assists in 2020 for club and country. Ronaldo also beat Lionel Messi for second-place in the FIFA Best Player of the Year award behind Robert Lewandowski. But then missed out on a potential sixth Ballon d’Or when France Football canceled the award for the year 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recently, votes from 128 journalists from 102 countries have been used by FourFourTwo magazine to do its own version of the Ballon d’Or. Each voter had to select a top 5 list of their best players in 2020 using the following points system;
- 1st – 6 points
- 2nd – 4 points
- 3rd – 3 points
- 4th – 2 points
- 5th – 1 point
