Ranking The Richest Football Players In The World – Who Is The First?

Here is the latest football-rich list – ranking the richest football players in the world for the year 2021.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the two greatest players in their generation – at least as per stats. However, their rivalry goes beyond the football pitch.

According to France Football (via ilBianconero), the two superstars are also leading the ranks when it comes to financial aspects.

The famous French magazine released the list of the top 10 highest earners in the world, and the Argentine star beats his Portuguese rival to the number one spot.

To determine the richest football players in the world, the study took into account the player’s total earnings and not just the wages they receive from their respective clubs.

As a result, Messi’s earning were estimated at 125 million euros, whilst Ronaldo is just behind with 118 millions.

The two Ballon d’Or serial winners are the only players on the list with 9-digit numbers, as Neymar completes the top three with 98 million euros.

With that, we can say that the top 3 in the richest football players in the world list at the moment are in the world of their own, as the next entry on the list is Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Bale who earns 37 million per year.
