The list of the best-paid football players in 2021 across Europe’s biggest leagues has been announced. In the list, Lionel Messi is the clear best-paid football player in Europe this season. The FC Barcelona captain will earn an incredible €126 million (pre-tax), which is €71.64m more than his nearest rival Cristiano Ronaldo makes with Juventus.
According to the study carried out by French outlet L’Equipe, the Argentine nets around €10.5m each month at Barcelona. This makes him comfortably the best-paid football player in the world, not just Europe alone, and even earns more than double what anybody else makes.
In comparison to his greatest rival, Ronaldo, reportedly makes €4.53m per month at Juventus and an annual total of €54.36m.

PSG forward Neymar rounds off the top three of the best-paid football players in Europe, which places the Brazilian as the Ligue 1’s best-paid star, according to L’Equipe. The 29-year-old star is set to profit €36.72m for this year (taxes excluded), including €3.06m-per-month.
Further in the list, Messi’s Barcelona teammate Antoine Griezmann and Atletico Madrid star Luis Suarez both earn €2.9m a month, and a whopping €34.8m every year.
Then injury-plagued Madrid star Eden Hazard comes in 6th in the best-paid football players in Europe for 2021 list at €2.5m per month ahead of Real Madrid teammate Sergio Ramos, who earns €2m per month.
