Los Blancos are in for new presidential elections, and an official statement published on the club’s website has confirmed. The movement, however, looks as if Florentino Perez called for it during Thursday’s board of director’s meeting. Moreover, Real Madrid’s president has been unchallenged as Los Blancos president since 2009.
According to the club’s official website, Florentino Perez called for new presidential elections while meeting the board of directors on Thursday.
President Perez addressed the electoral committee on the matter, asking them to initiate the procedure of choosing both the new president and the new board of directors.
The president, meanwhile, has been unchallenged in his post since taking over from interim president Vicente Boluda, who, in his turn, succeeded Ramon Calderon.
With the way it is, it really looks an odd development, unless Florentino Perez is experiencing health problems, or indeed, if it’s an April Fool’s joke, we can’t wrap our heads around it.
However, we advice you keep watching out for further info on the matter. We can be your plug on that!
