Before the game between Juventus and Napoli on Wednesday started, there was a lot of expectation for what Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku could do. Inter Milan was also taking on Sassuolo at the same. During Inter Milan’s match against Sassuolo, the Belgian forward opened the scoring just minutes before Cristiano did his thing.
The goal for Ronaldo, however, was down to Federico Chiesa’s brilliance as he dribbled past three defenders on the right flank to set up Cristiano at the heart of the box with a clinical cross. Even though Napoli still played competitive football during the start of the game, the Juve players were determined to get the three points.
Cristiano Ronaldo Is 11 Goals Close To Gonzalo Higuain’s Serie A Record
As the Portuguese took his shot to the bottom corner for Juventus’ opening goal, he soon realized he was closer to his ultimate objective this season. As a man who loves breaking records, Ronaldo has his sights set on one of his friends from Real Madrid. Gonzalo Higuain arrived at Napoli to set a record for most goals scored in a single Serie A season.
Despite Cristiano Ronaldo not making it to the top of the scoring table in previous years, this season looks more promising. With 25 goals, Ronaldo is only 11 goals behind that historic number set by the Argentine.
Meanwhile, there’s still a lot to play for the remainder of the season, so let’s see how far the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will get!
