Footage Reveals What Ronaldo Told Pepe During Their Champions League Clash
UEFA has released video footage of what Ronaldo told Pepe during their Champions League clash earlier this month.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe met as opponents when Juventus and Porto faced off recently for the first time since a Primeira Liga match between Sporting CP and MarÃtimo in April 2003 – nearly 18 years ago.
The veterans have played 324 games alongside each other for the Portuguese national team and Real Madrid, sharing 228 victories together. Ronaldo and Pepe have also won countless club and international trophies and made history together.
However, for over 210 minutes, the two long-time friends had to put their friendship aside and face each other as foes in a Champions League last-16 game.

Unfortunately for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, it was Porto, not Juventus, who eventually won the encounter on an away goal ruling after finishing 4-4 on aggregate.
In fact, Pepe rolled back the years with a superb display in the second leg to keep Juventus at bay. The 38-year-old, often seen as one of the finest center-backs of the last decade, was flawless and rightfully won praise as Ronaldo was kept silent in Turin.
Interestingly, in a video shared by UEFA from behind the goal, what Ronaldo told Pepe during their encounter in Turin can be clearly heard.
“Play it! I’m going to win,” Ronaldo had told Pepe
“I’m going to win and it’ll be with you on the pitch.”
UEFA then captioned the post with “Cristiano Ronaldo always wants to test himself against the best.”
