Over the years, we have seen several players compared to Cristiano Ronaldo, although not so many of them lived up to their initial potential. And now Dominic Calvert-Lewin has become the latest player to be likened the five-time Ballon d’Or winner by his teammate.
Everton’s in-form forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored an impressive six goals from just four appearances to mark a sensational start to the 2020-21 Premier League campaign as Everton maintain 100% winning record.
The forward’s goals tally sees him lead the league’s goalscoring chart, tied with Tottenham’s Son Heung-min at six goals.
Calvert-Lewin had equally enjoyed a similar goalscoring form last season as he found the back of the net on 15 occasions across all competitions.
Meanwhile, the English forward’s contributions didn’t go unnoticed as it has earned him a call-up by Gareth Southgate in the England national team for the October international fixtures.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin Likened to Cristiano Ronaldo By His Teammate
Richarlison, who is a teammate to Dominic Calvert-Lewin at Everton has compared his compatriot to Cristiano Ronaldo, at the same time, he added that the 23-year-old put in great efforts in training as well as in the gym to become as prolific as he is at the moment.
“Dominic’s development has been really impressive. He’s transformed into a complete striker,” Richarlison told FIFA’s official website.
“I remember when I got here, he was nothing like the player he is today. It’s down to the work he’s put in. He’s in the gym every day; he’s always working on his finishing.”
“He must be a nightmare to play against, and he has an incredible leap on him like Cristiano Ronaldo,” added the Brazilian forward.
