Atalanta star Gosens has revealed a post-match story with Ronaldo in his biography that left him ‘blushed and ashamed.’
Robin Gosens claimed the Juventus ace coldly turned him down when he asked him for his jersey at the end of the match.
At the end of a game between Juventus and Atalanta, the Atalanta star eagerly approached Ronaldo hoping to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning a CR7 jersey. He didn’t state when the incident happened, though. But Gosens insists his idol’s rejection left him crushed.
“After the game against Juventus, I tried to fulfill my dream of having Ronaldo jersey,” Robin Gosens wrote in his biography. “Dreams are Worthwhile,” as quoted by Goal Italia.
“After the final whistle I went to him, having not even gone public to celebrate … but Ronaldo did not accept. I asked: ‘Cristiano, can I have your shirt?’ He didn’t even look at me, he just said: ‘No!'”
Gosens added: “I was completely blushed and ashamed.”
“I went away and felt small. You know that moment when something embarrassing happens and you look around to see if anyone noticed it? That’s what I felt and tried to hide it.”
The German is unbeaten in his four games Cristiano Ronaldo. In records, Atalanta has held Juventus to three draws in Serie A and even thrashed the Old Lady 3-0 in a Coppa Italia quarter-final clash in January 2019, although Gosens only played one minute in that game.
