Cristiano Ronaldo Equals a 59-Year-Old Serie A Record After Juve’s Win Over Parma
Cristiano Ronaldo has supplied the goods yet again to propel Juventus to another emphatic victory and reached a prestigious landmark in Serie A at the same time. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s brace against Parma made him only the fourth player in Serie A history to score at least 33 goals in a calendar year.
It has been a bit disappointing week for the Portuguese after missing a penalty against Atlanta and the FIFA Best Player award in the mid-week. However, the 35-year-old Ronaldo took to the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Saturday all fired-up to prove his doubters wrong once again, and Parma was at the receiving end.
Juventus opponents of the night absolutely had no answer for Cristiano Ronaldo as he thumped in a brilliant header to double his team’s lead in the 26th-minute. He would go on to grab a brace just after half-time to take his tally up to 33 goals in only 27 league games in 2020.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s impressive run of 33 goals has taken him level with former Bianconeri forward Omar Sivori for the joint-third highest goal tally in a calendar year in Serie A history.
Meanwhile, Sivori reached that feat for Juventus back in 1961, exactly 59 years ago! Now, with a game to play in 2020 (against Fiorentina on Tuesday), Ronaldo has the opportunity to pull clear of Sivori in the goal charts and claim at least the third spot only him.
Gunnar Nordahl (36 goals in 1950) and Felice Borel (41 goals in 1933) are the only players who sit above the Portuguese superstar in the list.
Juventus recorded a convincing 4-0 victory over Parma on the night following goals from Dejan Kulusevski, Alvaro Morata, and Ronaldo’s brace, earning the star Serie A records for the night.
