Erik ten Hag has confirmed that he is starting his work at Man United this week after finishing the Eredivisie season with Ajax.
“From tomorrow [Monday], my focus will be on United, and I will of course get deep into things there,” the Dutchman told a press conference.
“What I have to say about it is, the detailed analysis still has to begin, I still have to work with the team, but let me be clear that at United there are a lot of good players around.
“We have to make them function as a team but definitely Ronaldo, he is a giant.”
It looks like Ten Hag wants to see Cristiano Ronaldo in his team which would likely mean that the forward will be happy to stay as well.
Ten Hag will not be formally in charge of the team for the final game of the season.
Instead, Ralf Rangnick will lead the team for what will be his last match as the Man United interim head coach against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
