In the list, Manchester City lead as the most valuable football club in the world. The Premier League champions have a squad value of €1.03 billion. City are closely followed by another English side Liverpool in the second place with a squad value of €1.01 billion, while Bayern Munich comes at a distant 3rd with €842 million to round off the top three.
Meanwhile, City and Liverpool sitting as Transfermarkt‘s two most valuable football clubs in the world will come as no surprise to many, after both English clubs invested immense sums of cash on new players in recent years.
On the contrary, an aging squad have seemed to have caught up with Real Madrid as the Spanish club sit only eight in the list on €746 million and behind city rivals Atletico Madrid (€748 million).
