Interestingly, Cristiano Ronaldo has equally scored just as many league goals for Juventus this season.
Messi and Ronaldo are now the only two players in Europe’s top 5 leagues to have scored at least 25 goals in 12 different seasons this century.
However, Lionel Messi have achieved his feat in 12 consecutive campaigns.
The Portuguese and the Argentinian continues to tear down records in the 21st century. On records, however, Messi has become the first player in history to score at least 25 goals in 12 straight seasons in Europe’s top 5 leagues.
The six-time Ballon d’Or winner bagged 2 goals in the first half against Getafe on Thursday night. Overall, the 33-year-old forward netted 31 goals in all competitions this season so far.
