Cristiano Ronaldo continues to make history with his recent goals against Inter Milan in Coppa Italia semifinal’s first-leg taking his tally to the most goals in football history. In fact, it’s becoming a norm for Ronaldo to set a new record with every one of his recent goals.
Whenever needed, Ronaldo is always there to deliver as the Old Lady desperately needed a big performance against rivals Inter Milan in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinals. The Serie A defending champions fell back early in the game through an opening goal from Lautaro Martinez.
However, Ronaldo was there to come to the rescue by scoring twice within a space of ten minutes to turn the scoreline around in the favor of the Bianconeri before half-time. Pirlo and his Juve squad went on to win the game by a 2-1 score-line to put them as the favorites ahead of the second-leg at Turin.
According to Marca, the goals were number 762 and 763 for Ronaldo in his career. And with Pele and Josef Bican both level at 762 career goals, it now means the Portuguese have the most goals in football history.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo still has time on his side to add more goals to his impressive tally. Although the record could be quite controversial as some sources claim Pele and Bican have way more goals than recorded.
Among them is Czech Federation, who put out a statement disputing the number of recorded goals for Bican. Well, we will have to see how it ends, but at the moment majority of the publications have it that Cristiano Ronaldo now has the most goals in football history!
Congratulations to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner!
