Cristiano Ronaldo is under police investigation after a ski trip with the superstar allegedly breaking Italy’s coronavirus regulations. Since the news of Ronaldo’s recent trip arose, there has been a controversy in Italy.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Ronaldo and his girlfriend took a two-day trip to the Courmayeur region to celebrate Georgina’s 27th birthday. Thus, if the rumor is true, it means that the Juventus and Portugal captain clearly breached the current regulations that Italy has in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
For him to make the trip, Cristiano Ronaldo crossed the border between the regions of Piedmont and Valle D’Aosta. Meanwhile, those regions have both been flagged as orange areas by the Italian government. Hence, Ronaldo and Georgina were not allowed to travel without a clear motive. Furthermore, the lovebirds are rumored to have stayed in a hotel that has been officially closed for public use.
Now the controversy has taken a serious twist as Cristiano Ronaldo is under police investigation. The Juventus forward will most likely be fined by Italian authorities for his dangerous behavior. Also, escalating the issue is a third-party, who released a video where Ronaldo and Georgina are pictured on a snowmobile in a snowy area. And despite that the clip was quickly taken down from the internet, there was still time for fans to share it and it has now gone viral.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will now await the consequences of his recent ski trip as investigations are underway. However, Juventus are yet to release a statement on the issue so far. Likewise, no indication has been made so far that the Portuguese will be punished by the club.
