Rested Ronaldo ‘Ready’ To Face FC Porto, Says Bonucci

It’s obvious Juventus cannot afford to give anything less than 100% in their crucial upcoming Champions League encounter against FC Porto, given the defeat in the first leg.

According to teammate Leonardo Bonucci, Cristiano Ronaldo is “ready” to face FC Porto in Juventus’ Champions League Round of 16 second-leg.

The Bianconeri will yet again be pinning their hopes on hitman Ronaldo to inspire a dramatic comeback on Tuesday night.

In the first leg of the encounter, the Serie A defending champions were rather absent-minded in defense which cost them a 2-1 defeat at Estadio do Dragao last month.

Meanwhile, with Cristiano Ronaldo rested ahead of this clash and given the narrow scoreline, the tie is far from over, and Juve can still go all out to advance to the next stage ahead of FC Porto.

“Cristiano is always ready to play these games,” says Bonucci in his pre-match press conference, via Football Italia.

“Some time ago, he said he would play only Champions League games. So, you can imagine his energy for tomorrow’s game.”

It has become a worrying issue that Juventus has been unable to translate their domestic dominance onto the continental stage, but hopefully, things would be different this time around.

Bonucci added: “This Juventus side is a team made by big men who can take responsibility in every moment. We want to take Juventus where we deserve.

“We can’t afford to throw anything away tomorrow. It’s hard to have the right approach when you play one game every three days, but it’s no excuse.”
