Mason Mount Chooses Between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

New Manchester United signing Mason Mount has joined in the debate of who’s a better player between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Despite not being an easy choice to make, the English man admits he prefers Cristiano Ronaldo over Leo Messi. Both players are widely regarded as two of the greatest footballers of all time, although the debate still rages on today despite both legends plying their trade in different leagues.

While Mason Mount prefers Ronaldo, the England international couldn’t resist poking fun at his Chelsea teammate Tammy Abraham.

The homegrown talents have both made a leap from the academy to become Premier League stars over a couple of seasons.

When quizzed by Harry Pinero to rank Abraham, Messi, and Ronaldo, the 22-year-old midfielder maestro told the UMM YouTube Channel in one of the episodes of ‘In That Order’:

“You know what, between Ronaldo and Messi, there’s not much in it.

“But I’d probably go… Ronaldo, Messi, then I don’t know, I can’t remember the last name.”

The youngster also revealed that voice notes are one of his biggest pet peeves. Mount claimed Ben Chilwell is one of the main culprits in the Chelsea dressing room.

“You know who does them all the time? Chilly [Chilwell].

“He’s always doing it and it just annoys me when he sends it to me because then he’s doing a voice note and I’m texting.

“It don’t work, it doesn’t add up.”

Mount, who signed for Manchester United this summer after failing to reach agreement with Chelsea over contract renewal was given Man United’s iconic jersey number 7, previously donned by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, George Best, and more.

Although since Ronaldo, no other Man United player has been able to live up to the hype of the legendary number. But upon taking the squad number, Mason Mount revealed his inspiration with the 24-year-old saying “I try to base my free-kicks on Ronaldo.

“Hit the ball by the valve and it moves. That’s all you do. Top corner, top bins.”
