Gianluigi Buffon Congratulates his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo following his latest career achievement. Gigi Buffon and Cristiano Ronaldo clearly have a good relationship on and off the field despite going from club rivals to teammates at Juventus.
In the past, the legendary Juventus and Italy shot-stopper has even challenged Ronaldo to break some records. And like we know, breaking records is just like taking a walk to the park for the Portugal captain.
The 35-year-old scored in Juve’s Italian Super Cup win over Napoli, which made him the highest goal-scorer in the history of football. So as a result, it’s only a natural thing that the legendary goalkeeper doesn’t let his teammate’s biggest achievement slip away without lending his remarks.
Taking to social media, the 42-year-old Italian joked around with the Portuguese. “You could have spared me a couple of goals,” Buffon said.
Moreover, the Juventus legend decided to award his teammate with a new nickname relating to the record that he just broke.
“Anyway, congratulations for your umpteenth record in career. CR…760!” he wrote.
Gigi Buffon and Cristiano Ronaldo have been teammates at Juventus for two seasons. The Italian international returned to his original club after a short spell at Paris Saint-German. Buffon even stated in the past that Ronaldo was one of the reasons why he decided to return to Turin.
Congratulations to CR…760, according to Gianluigi Buffon!
