Real Madrid fans chanted Cristiano Ronaldo’s name during the seventh minute of their clash against Espanyol in a heart-warming tribute to the forward’s late baby son.
This was their first game at the Santiago Bernabeu since Ronaldo announced the death of one of his twins. Although the boy passed away, the girl survived.
The Manchester United forward, 37, missed their game against Liverpool on compassionate leave. However, he returned against Arsenal and Chelsea, scoring his side’s only goal in both games.
Los Blancos fans are no strangers to Ronaldo’s exploits, having cheered him on from 2008 to 2019.
Cristiano Ronaldo is their leading top scorer, with 450 goals in just 438 appearances for Los Blancos following his nine-year stint with the Spanish giant.
The Portuguese also won 15 titles with Real Madrid, including four Champions League trophies.
According to Mirror, Real Madrid are growing increasingly keen on re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer from Man United after watching his heroics this season.
The 37-year-old is currently contracted to the Red Devils until 2023, but if he really pushes for a move, the club probably won’t have a choice but to sell him in the summer.
